Testing----mostly testing, Jim.-----In the shop then in the test garden ---then in the large iron strewn area I have that I call "iron hell".:)----If any detector I have that makes it thru all that barrage--I figure they're good to go about anywhere.-----My wife & I did hunt an old fairgrounds the other day.----Didn't find anything exciting (just new coins)---but we had fun.------Man was it HOT though.---Weather forecast is calling for continued heat for awhile--can't take it like I could when I was a yung 'un.;)---------Del

Waiting for the weekenders to leave the campground.
I'm working nights this week, and being afternoon temps are over 100, I only have about an hour in the morning to poke around.

If I find anything fun, I'll let you know.

If it ever stops raining ................

I grabbed my rain coat and went out Saturday morning with intermittent rain to an old park. Was deserted just like I like it.
Got about 25 coins one wheat.
Delta pitch tines is still my favorite using the 5" coil.
Found an old brass key 11" down. Was an iffy high tone but deep.

I'm hunting every morning Jim. Got a good deal on a water machine for me and my grandson but need to learn the language so I've been busy learning the translation between the F70 and the Pro. Found three rings with the 70 so far this year but no hallmarks on any of them.

Guess I will have to buy a test kit and a scale to be sure but two of them have some tarnish so I figure they were fake------------HH Jim-------------IB

I'm out everyday..Just got back from a 5am to 8am massive beach sweep.... nothing outstanding to report...no massive can hauls, no big wads of cash, just the usual clad and various bric a brac...plus, somehow I developed a severe case of 'Angry Toe' probably from running around barefoot, or in flip flops..musta stepped on something or got stung?...

I've had it going on a week, so I'm a bit slower than normal, and the miles of dry sand is not helping... Maybe I should go down to the baitshop and stick in the leech tank? GOLD waits for nobody, and a guy cant have an angry toe shut a fellow down in season ...its a real annoyance..:sadwalk:. Anyway, we had a nice crop of new members this spring, so I am wondering what happened to them all? Surely somebody musta found something? I found a 45 wheat penny yesterday at 3" in an old park...big deal!:punch:

Glad to know you all are out there and still around. We are dry as a bone here. Some of you that are getting steady doses of rain, I would be glad to take some off your hands. I've got one spot that I can somewhat dig on. It has received a couple of showers, so the top couple of inches of turf is damp. However, it hasn't been mowed in at least two weeks. Did manage a 29s Merc on the weekend on it and 5 wheat cents this morning. If there is a 09s vdb in the batch, I will be sure to let you know. HH jim tn

WOW! That's a dang sore lookin toe ya got there Mud. I swear if that were a thumb I'd say you hit it with a hammer, but you would have to be pretty bent out of shape to miss the nail and hit your toe:rofl:----literally Hope it gets better---------IB

Went out to this old closed down golf course a few days ago with my brother wv62 and found around 25 coins between the both of us but nothing old, I'm thinking the oldest coin was 1969 quarter but it was virgin ground with hardly any trash so it provided us with a lot of hope we may go back again later and try again.

I love those old fairgrounds. It's rare in my experience, though, to find one not to trashy. Give it another good banging and good luck. HH jim tn

Mud how in the heck did you get a picture of a sasquatch foot??? :yikes: I think it comes from drinking open cans of beer found in the park? I am not a doctor but I play a doctor and do the women get mad when they find out I am not a doctor... Take care.....Z

Had to fiddle with getting the image to load.
Thanks sites have all dried out and the ground is pretty tough digging. So I'm just stabbing at anything under 4" deep. I am surprised at how many dimes I hit.
That stupid string of mylar had me all excited. It was ringing in as nickle/tab. When I first saw it, I was thinking chain. Nope!

Hello again everyone. I have been off the net for a few months. I had to take a short business trip on behalf of my Uncle Sam. Back in the good ol' USA now and can't wait to get back out in the dirt. I'll grab some fresh batteries and hopefully have something to show for my absence. I hope I still remember how to use the F70. Its good to be back. HH all.
