I have read the manual several times but I guess I am not too smart. I have an Explorer XS. When I save patterns in one of the six slots, I am not able to retrieve one to use. When I try I lose the pattern. Any help would be appreciated....Jack

Are you saving the patterns through the Learn Screen? then you go to Main Menu, then Select Screen, then arrow down to the pattern you want, then select it.

I sold my manual to Elton so I can't read it...But remember there is a button to save and there is a place to save it as user A or user B....and a place to save it in, slot 1-6.....I guess, make a pattern from your learn or edit or both then push main menu button, push save, then select slot to save it in, 1 thru 6 and then go back to main menu and push settings and choose save as user "A", I assume you are user "A"....If you are like me, always go back over all options and prefences, Example...make sure nothing changed ,...like, I set it up for, TH tones to be 5,,variability to be 8,limits 10, ferrous sounds, audio normal etc.....no matter if I saved anything or not I always do that before a hunt cause I have lost my settings before just cause battery lost contact for a second and it went back to default settings.

BTW, Here's the Best instructional video you can find: "Exploring the Explorer" - on YouTube:

I also highly recommend getting the book "Mastering the Minelab Explorer XS & S" by Andy Sabisch it says XS/S but it also applies to the Explorer II/SE being so similar, it's a GREAT book that will help you a lot. It goes for around $15.

If you need the Manual remember there's a download link at the Minelab website guys:

You can probably find a used copy over on eBay as well, or you can just buy the newest version of "Exploring the Explorer" which is called "Exploring the Explorer Advanced Edition"
