Its probably a "surefire" bet that the very first time you crank up your machine for your first long hunt you're gonna run into the "falsing" off of iron scene. For those with a lot of experience, this presentation will not hold much new information. For those contemplating the E-Trac or for the new beginners, being able to listen to the E-Trac falsing and having someone confirm that what you are hearing and what is being presented IS indeed falsing; goes a long way to building confidence in learning your detector.
For me, the first 10-20 hours were filled with almost TOO much little sounds. I'd read all I could on the "iffy" signals and dug most of 'em the first 10 trips out. As I did, I started to get a handle on what my detector was trying to tell me. The more I used it the easier it got. Especially the last 40 or so hours I put in last fall. The falses were almost a background noise, much like my threshold hummm . In fact if I wasn't hearing my maching false a little now and then I checked to see if the SunRay switch was stuck on
. Also the"good" little blips that turned out to be deep, good targets stopped me in mid-swing. I started to uncover nice finds even on some one way hits.
By no means is this video everything on falsing. I really wanted to get a deeper target, it just didn't happen that day. My only advice I can really give you is don't look past the journey. After all the HUNT is what I'm after, not the finds. The finds are just the cherry top! If someone gets a little less frustrated from seeing this video, then that's why I made it.
By the way. I don't know how, but I accidently recorded this in HD....so it might take a little longer to load - Sorry.
