Here's a video I did on listening to the E-Trac Falsing...

Its probably a "surefire" bet that the very first time you crank up your machine for your first long hunt you're gonna run into the "falsing" off of iron scene. For those with a lot of experience, this presentation will not hold much new information. For those contemplating the E-Trac or for the new beginners, being able to listen to the E-Trac falsing and having someone confirm that what you are hearing and what is being presented IS indeed falsing; goes a long way to building confidence in learning your detector.

For me, the first 10-20 hours were filled with almost TOO much little sounds. I'd read all I could on the "iffy" signals and dug most of 'em the first 10 trips out. As I did, I started to get a handle on what my detector was trying to tell me. The more I used it the easier it got. Especially the last 40 or so hours I put in last fall. The falses were almost a background noise, much like my threshold hummm . In fact if I wasn't hearing my maching false a little now and then I checked to see if the SunRay switch was stuck on :lmfao:. Also the"good" little blips that turned out to be deep, good targets stopped me in mid-swing. I started to uncover nice finds even on some one way hits.

By no means is this video everything on falsing. I really wanted to get a deeper target, it just didn't happen that day. My only advice I can really give you is don't look past the journey. After all the HUNT is what I'm after, not the finds. The finds are just the cherry top! If someone gets a little less frustrated from seeing this video, then that's why I made it.

By the way. I don't know how, but I accidently recorded this in HD....so it might take a little longer to load - Sorry.

Nice vid. I think that is exactly what the newer Etrac users need to see. It can cut down on the learning curve a bit. I have about 250 hours on mine and it took me reading many posts and alot of digging those falsies to figure it out and be more confident with it. Love the first sight of that contrast with the silver vs dirt!! gets the heart pumping. HH

Hey Neb, using my work computer the video is blocked. Do you have a youtube link or something? Thanks!

Hopefully this will work.

Thanks Nebtrac. I am still learning and have been using the 2TF and the stock coin mode. I have loaded the "Andy Sabishe" coin prog that u are using and am going to try it.. Thanks again the falsing you show is alsp what I have been hearing. And am learning the circling around technique to distinguish the good target. Thanks again for the vid.

Thank you! As a new Etrac owner with only 15 hours under my belt.... I appreciate the info!

Nice work my friend. No matter how much experience a person has...whether it's just a few hours or 300 hours...you can never be shown or reminded too much on something like this.

Very helpful and informative video. Keep up the good work.

I'm not totally sure but I think it's not falsing, it's iron?

As I understand it, falsing IS the signal that bounces off of rusted iron. I never thought about it too much, because I do not experience too often, and to some that is thinking what might be falsing is actually EMI chattering. At this place the nearest electricity was

Thanks Nebtrac, that video was very helpful for a new user like me. To be able to hear the sounds the E-Trac makes, when trying to learn, is most helpful. Thanks for taking the time to do that, much appreciated. -- Randy
