Here's my review of Doc's "Swingy Thingy" while using one heavy coil.

Thanks for the info and I think you will like it once you hit the field.I found that it works the best for me with the clamp just under the control housing and above my Sunray probe switch box,Ray.

How is it when digging a target? Do you have to disconnect when you lay the detector down and use the probe to recover a target? And then, re-connect once you stand back up? Would like to see a video demonstartion, if you do make a video, can you please show us the whole sequence or getting down and back up after a recovery?

Thanks & HH, Mark

If you're using a sand scoop or big shovel, no problem since you're still standing up. If you kneel down to excavate a target you set the machine down beside you just like always...there's enough slack to set it down. If there isn't enough slack, or you are in a position that prevents enough slack, than you can just let the detector hang there...sometimes it's like having an extra hand. If your shoulder or back has detector pain, try it, you'll like it.

I have been using Doc's Swingy Thingy for over a year on my X-Terra-70 with the 10.5 DD MF coil. I would not consider going hunting with out it. My pard Smitty has one and he feels the same. Best thing seance sliced bread. TomB

Well i maned up and got mine in. Super fast shipping! Very well made and thought out. Works like it should left handed. Super comfortable! I'm able to swing my ET with just two fingers. I also noticed that i can now extend my lower rod out further to gain a larger sweep.

much thanks for your report....i'm 60 and a newbie swinging an ace 250 and now a tesoro vaquero....they're both light but wouldn't mind them even lighter!

When I switch from my E-Trac to the Ace 250, I just move the hook that attaches to the ET to the shaft of the Ace 250, adjust the length of the bungee cord and keep swinging. I'm 67. I need to do that. jim

I have found that my swing is too restricted with the short cord, a modification to higher up on the shouldet, as close as you can get to the actual shoulder joint almost eliminates this, also cliping into your pants serves 2 things, takes the weight of the detector and keeps your pants up
This is fine in nice weather but when its raining and you have a jacket on where do you clip it? the only way is to have a wet bum.
I'm working on a full harness made from Ex- army surplus yolk as the base

No evrybody!!! its not the weight its the Handle angle on the Explorers its Like a S rod, I used to have the XS / SE and my upper forarm hurt, I went to the E-Track and the Handle is more stright Like 90 % to the forarm, Makes it more Ballanced it dosent seam so heavy wont strain the wrist,
Hope this helps, Mickfin,
