Hey everyone, what is your "GO TO" coil???

Since there are so many aftermarket coils available for the Etrac, I was just curious what everyone's "GO TO" coil is and why??

I actually have two.

At old home sites or really trashy parks, I use my SEF 6x8. Great Separation, Good Depth. I really like this little coil. It seems to really isolate those good targets that are surrounded by trash.

Parks, fields, etc... I like to use my Ultimate coil. To me it definitely goes deeper and is more stable than the stock coil. Although I just got a SEF 10x12 and can't wait to try that one out on these types of locations too.

Look forward to seeing what everyone uses!!!

Thanks!!

6x8 sef would be my first choice hands down

Stock coil is my favorite all around coil and it is used 75% of the time, the 8x6 SEF coil is my favorite for trashy areas and iron laden spots

I use the 13" Ultimate about 90% of the time. For trashy areas I switch to the 6x8. I also have the 5 inch sunray but only bust it out when the trash is super thick. My stock coil (and a 10x12) I do use on occasion but the ultimate has been good to me and can pick some mighty small goods out of some pretty trashy sites if it's swung right.

I use my 4.5" x 7" Excelerator Coil approx. 80% + of the time - good depth - great in heavy iron - pinpoints like a laser and it's a closed design ... so no hang ups on field stubble and brush !

For me the Pro coil is the one i use but i am going to get a Ultimate coil soon in place of a 17x15 coil which is too big and heavy for me . Though its mostly that i dont really like very big coils anyway that its going .

I use the Pro coil unless the area is trashy, then I swap to my 6x8. If the area is really trashy, I can go to either the 6" Excellerator or 5" X-5 (the smaller swap has happened more often lately).

I only have the stock coil right now but ordered an 8x6 I can't wait to try. I think a lot of the areas I'm hunting are putting too many targets under the coil at once or it's just too heavy of iron. That X5 has looked impressive on YouTube though too.
