Hi Guys...........It's your long, not so lost buddy, Sunny!

I have finally found out what has been making me so sick for so long. After wasting away to a mere 114 pounds and looking every inch the feeble, breakable grandmother that I was, we found out. On Mother's Day night, I started having the most horrible abdominal pain. Scott finally ended up taking me to the hospital, and come to find out I had a Lower Bowel Obstruction. Somehow, some scar tissue had wrapped around my bowel acting like a "lap band", thus making me where I could not eat, didn't want to get up...............I was just feeling lousy all day, everyday. They did surgery on me, and to everyone's surprise, I came out of surgery on a vent! I was on this vent for three days, and I had some really wonderful experiences even when I came so close to death. (Story to follow soon, I hope)

I remained in the hospital for fifteen days, received a bill today for $95,000.00 since I was in ICU for most of it :) Thank goodness I have 2 insurances. They can fight it out.

Anyway, still have my original problem that plagues me daily, but I have been seeing a physician in Houston, Texas, and I think we are real close to getting it resolved. (say a prayer).

Johnboy has been living with me about three to four days a week, making me his challenge to get me better. As of now, we are walking two miles a day, plus I have gained up to a healthy 124 pounds (I am only 5'1") so that's good for me. Johnboy has been very good for me. He is such a special brother and I love him so much!

I hope all of you are well, and I have missed each and every one of you. I simply did not pull up my computer for days on end, simply because I did not have the energy! I lived in a chair in my bedroom for almost two years! I feel so much better now, and oh,...........by the way..............I quit smoking during the hospital stay thanks to the good ole patches, but was not even aware of it, as I was not conscious a whole lot of the time! I am on the mend, so everyone just keep me in their prayers, and that alone will be enough to get me not only partially, but ALL the way well again and I can have a life once again.

Love, Sunny

:thumbup:That is really great news Sunny! Stay on the Mend, Get well, and say Hello to John. I have not been here for quite awhile myself. Been busy with a Lightship in Boston Harbor! I owe everyone a story or two, just time has been short. Wow, Sunny, That is really Great news...and now if only Vermont Dave would get back in here! Missed All of you! Rj

We have really missed you, just not the same anymore without you being here. I have mellowed out since you have been gone, no longer do anything to stir the pot to cause a commotion on the Forum. However, Wayne and OJ still stir up trouble from time to time. We have been saving a few cat jokes for your eventual arrival back home here...want to make you feel at home, right? I am happy to hear that the doctors found out what was wrong with you, and the other problem is being handled by a Houston doctor. You have a lot of ground to make up when you come back. Sunny, happy times will return when you finally come back! Kelley (Texas) :)

I miss your sea stories! It will be great when you finish some of your sea history projects and return to the Forum. If you get a short break or free time, please let us hear from you. Ron, you are very important to some of us and I don't think you realize how much we have missed seeing you post on here. You will always have a forum home here. Please take care and let us hear from you, let us know that you are OK! Kelley (Texas) :)

Welcome Home Sunny!

I've been missing your smiling face!

My thoughts and prayers have been with you.

Be well soon,

CJ

I knew you had been busy. Busy is living buddy

has been the problem. Now I hope that doc in Huston can find and fix the rest. We sure have missed you guys. Fred and Wayne get out of hand occasionally but I try my best to set a great example for them. Just as I know you would.

Missed you terribly on the forum. And the news that you are finally getting a handle on the problems makes it even better.

You tell Johnboy that we have an open season on elk this year.... now maybe he can come up and get the match for his antler. :):

you keep posting and let us know what is happening
