Highs & Lows, That's Life!

Tuesday started well, had a short 1.5 hour hunt at a new place before the weather was supposed to get BAD! First signal at the rear of the old stone house was a crisp 12/45 at 5", popped the heavy compacted soil to see an early LC, after cleaning a well aged 1798 Draped Bust LC. My oldest large cent, sorry for the pics.

After digging a few newer coins and a 1890 Indian ( in decent shape) got another 12/45/47 at 9" under a tree and got a 1847 Large Cent in great shape. My best looking LC to date.

Well then the weather started to get bad and I headed home. That's where the Lows come in. The weather got terrible, straight line winds and rain. Lost three trees and power for 12 hours. Got it all cleaned up today so I can hunt tomorrow :detecting:

Thanks for looking, happy hunting and stay safe.

Congrats on the large cets man I still have yet to find one WTG

Other than a few short lived power outages, we've managed to avoid any substantial wind damage this year...... so far! Congrats on both LC recoveries. That 47 is in great shape. Nicely done. HH Randy

Great to see you rescued those.

That 47 is in very nice condition! Too bad the other one didn't fare as well but it is still real nice to see a 1700's american coin come out of the ground.

We had some wind damage here a couple days ago. A big branch fell on my snowmobile trailer. It was big enough to do damage but thankfully just hit the bed instead of the edges where it might have bent things up. The same day a decent size branch came down in front of my wife and kids while driving her brand new Passport. Thankfully no one was hurt

Last winter I had an electrician install the wiring for our generator... I ended up using the very next day for Hurricane Sandy and a couple times over the winter... If it was just the wife and I it wouldn't be as big a deal but with a 6.5 year old and a fifteen month old it would be tough...
