hit big silver with the ex ll

hit a favourite spot yesterday for 1 hr found a 1943 florin it was down about 7-8 inch deep with a rusty nail right next to it i"m a :) :detecting: also found a 1951 half penny.

Same here GR, old man winter is finally coming. I like the silver piece, congrats.
 
thanks guys i usually don't hunt old silver in the summer as it"s hot & the ground is hard as rock but we"v had a lot of rain this month so i"m hitting a few spots wile the ground is still soft hopefully i"ll get 3-4 more hunts in.
 
Tony it"s a bit over a inch here"s a pic with a US half dollar & a UK 50p for sizeing.
 
fantomv i use a tooth brush for the penny"s i didin"t clean the silver but usually i put the 50% silver coins in lemon juice it cleans them up a treat & the 90% silver i use electrolysis
 
Gunnar you can pick up a used explorer ll quite cheep if ya want & then live the dream :thumbup:.
