Hobo nickles or modified coins

Has anyone ever found any modified coins like a hobo nickle or a love token made from a coin? I would love to see some if you have and would love to buy some hobo nickles if you would sell them. Idigid

After reading your post, I checked on eBay for hobo nickels. Have you checked there? From what I saw on the bay, it would be hard to tell whether or not one is a contemporary example or not. HH-CC

I have never found a Hobo Nickle, but my son and I both have found one Love Token each over the years (both dimes and seated ). I have found two silver coin rings, one from a Walking Liberty Half and one from a British coin about the size of a silver half crown. Both are probably dating to around WW II. Sorry but none of these items are for sale, just to scarce and hard to come by. Rick IL.

These were part of the jewelry that my dear departed mother-in-law left
The Silver Dollar is a pendant and you can see some on E Bay
And the hair barrette has English coins, 2 Silvers and a large Penny

There is a long history of coins being made into jewelry
and I had these to show as examples

She was my mother-in- law and collected all sorts of stuff
She was an inspiration and due to her influence
I started doing the same and have some of my own collections including vintage compacts
I even dug a few up and was able to identify them and those of other posted examples
Mainly because I knew how to research the compact because of my collecting compacts(in better shape than dug examples)

I have no clue if there are identifications or marks attributed to a maker on the silver dollar pendant but there are other examples on ebay
And if I recall there is a special name for pop out coins jewelry but I don't recall the term
Pop out coins may do the trick

Regards and HHS
