This afternoon I spent almost 4 hours at a 1930's school yard detecting. I finally built up enough confidence in how to operate this 705 that I ventured to a place that I hoped would produce something special other than clad and junk lol. I ended up when the afternoon was over and rain clouds began to roll in finding 3 wheat cents, two state tax tokens and a few miscellaneous clad coins. But the find that really had me jumping was a 1940 Mercury dime!!! This is a first for me! My first silver coin ever! I couldn't believe what I was seeing......I looked at it 3-4 times to make sure it was what it was
. It was 6-7 inches down, gave a nice high tone and came in around 44-45. This school has been pounded over the years so I was not sure how successful I would be. Well......what a way to start off 2012. Hopefully only the first of many more. Really like this X-Terra 705. Thanks...........Tired Rooster.
