Wow! Awesome Indian. The closest I have to a key date is also an Indian but it's only semi-key compared to yours. Great find!

The rarest coin I've found is a 1870-S Seated Liberty dime--mintage 50,000 (found about a year ago with the Etrac)

Don't know how rare it is, but it is my favorite!

The best was a 1921-D Mercury Dime in Ex-F to ? I thought AU but the dealer I showed it to said EX-F I found it about 25yrs ago in My brother inlaws front yard in Loveland Colorado.I carried it around in my coin pocket for 4 days because it didn't register to me that it was a key date coin untill I got home.I'll see if I can find the photo album with the picture to post later. My Best key date would be a 1923-S SLQ. Graded at AU55. They noted a scratch on the back but it's barely visible to the naked eye. I've been offered $1,000 but declined. This coin made E&W magazine in an article about a demo we hunted. Unfortunately they screwed up and my friend got credit for the find. :rage:

I also have...

1893-S Half - XF+ (pictured in my hand without 2x2)
1892-S Dime - XF+ (not pictured)

A few semi-keys the best of which is either 09-S Penny (no VDB) or the 07-S Half (pictured in 2x2)

Here's some of my semi-key/key date coins, and a couple other nice ones. Wish they had come out of the ground in a little better shape. Oh well, I was still glad to find them.

Hey sharpshooter--you ain't alone hitting a good coin with a digger.--I think most of us has done it one time or another--I've done it SEVERAL times. ---I "jowed" an 1979-S Morgan dollar once that was down deep under a tree root.---MAN I hated that!---Like they ain't hard (impossible) enough to find & then I go & do that!----We got 'em though pardner, scratch & all and there ain't nobody that can take them away from us!! :) --------Del
