Hour hunt between thunder showers at old stone school house...

This site has been hammer hard for years but they cut the grass very low and I was very pleasantly surprised.I might add this will be one of the sites we will most likely be hunting during the upcoming forum hunt if all works out.

Always nice to get that coil a little closer to the ground. Nice job scoping out the keepers. 1908 and 1925? dimes.

Wish I didn't live 1200+ miles away, would be fun to be there for a hunt.

Nice finds Ray. Did you find it "not as good of a hunt" after finding your Morgan last week? Thanks for the pictures.

Actually I never thought about the Morgan and was very happy with the hunt as I did not expect to find any silver.

This is why I like you veteran detectorists on this forum. I learn so much from your maturity. After finding my Morgan, I hunted the same spot a week later and found 3 Mercs. and 3 wheats and 1 buff. The hunt didn't leave the same taste in my mouth. I thought about this for the rest of the evening and realized my error. After "coming down" off a high of finding something I thought I'd never find, the next hunt (while still enjoyable) wasn't as exciting. Part of that, maybe, was due to fact I was alone this time.

Then I took stock and said to myself "You dummy, you just pulled 7 coins and not a one is newer than 1920" get your head out and enjoy your hobby.

The next hunt, at a different location, - no silver, just 9 wheats...but I was pullin' these out 8-9" down. I enjoyed the fact I was just able to get easily diggable sounds from that deep.

Thanks Ray for being a great example and a great moderator!

I think you nailed it Neb, after making my first good finds I would be "antsy" about the next hunt thinking that I was probably going to be let down, hopefully I am over that with the realization that hunting isn't a test, take your good finds and enjoy them and enjoy a day out having fun anticipating what you find and be greatful for whatever turns up. That is why I like hunting with friends, even if you don't make the "killer find" of the day you can vicariously enjoy and truly be happy for them.

Nice finds Ray. Your hard work pays off.

As everyone here knows, the Etrac is one of the best at finding the stragglers at the "hunted out" sites, and that is what makes them fun to go to, to find what has been missed.

I always hope to find something good, but am happy just to be out hunting and hoping for a nice find. To me, a wheaty makes a successful hunt, and if I am fortunate enough to find silver, it is a "very" successful hunt.

Can't imagine what I look like to the public as I celebrate out loud with or without a friend. and all it takes is a novelty ring or clad pocket spill.

Great finds Raymo... HH

Looks promising for sure. I know you'll do that site supreme justice with your E-trac. Can't wait to see what else you uncover there.
