The X-1 for the Etrac arrived yesterday. NICE! ( bought used off craigslist, LIKE NEW! )
Now, I can wear my HeadPhones while pinpointing, that should be a big PLUS.I know I'm going to like using the X-1.
Can't wait for the RAIN to stop now. It's raining from south Texas to Maine, and I'm right in the middle of it. Looks like it could be a week before its dry enough to walk around out there, let alone detect.

Not sure where it would be best to mount the probe? I see some on top of the upper shaft and some along the battery compartment. It seems to me, the better location may be along the battery.

Anyone got any ideas on where its best mounted?

Sounds like you were lucky to find one...I finally found one over in Okinawa of all places. One of our servicemen had it and did not use it. Took awhile to get here but the season has ended here anyway but I will have it for next year next year. Mine is mounted on the shaft and seems to alright. Hope you enjoy it. HH

I like mine mounted on the top of the shaft, because when it loads up with mud it is not all over your arm and battery box. Try what you like as it easy to change.
