:detecting: i have a good site ive found on the local river the fort is up river around 8 miles easy place for wagons too have crossed at one time how far off that spot on the river would you look for its mostly all very flat land

Anywhere along the route taken by the wagons would be a good place to start looking. Natural resting spots too, especially where they came out of the water and up on dry terra firma where they might have unloaded goods to allow them to dry out. You have got to hit those spots by all means. Hunt in very low discrimination and dig all signals. Remember a lot of what may register as junk on your machine might be the very stuff you should be looking for. Go into the full relic mode. You are not hunting coins and rings on a local playground.

Good luck and happy hunting.

:twodetecting:you are correct i love too relic hunt LOL man ive got alot of places too hunt there theres a few thousand acres there .......be glad too hunt there

FindMall has a excellent forum on maps. You might want to re-post your question there. Some really talented mappers/detectorists in that forum.
