How many folks using the Sunray X-1?

Upper shaft, right next to switch. keeps the shoulders strong LOL

A little tip... after switching to the probe in pinpoint, if the target is deep, go to max manual sens. There are some tricks to it, like the depth meter being off due to the very small size of the coil, but it will eventually become second nature. Also increases target recovery speed and helps to keep from digging two foot deep holes when the target is actually 6 inches deep but off to the side of the hole HAHA that's not fun.

I couldn't be without mine and was well worth the

I'm not a big fan of in-line pinpointers. I tried the X-1 for the season and after being annoyed by the extra weight and the cord getting caught on stuff I sold it and got a pocketsized garrett propointer. I do not miss the X-1 at all. :goodnight:

In my opinion, the ONLY advantage with the X-1 is that it is more sensitive and will get better depth; however... its a pinpointer. Our metal detectors take care of the depth part. :drinking:

To each his own, I suppose!

Extra weight?...what is it...8 oz. now..maybe try a protein drink before you go hunting. As for the only advantage is depth and sensitivity, I find it to be much more that that. It gives you a 1" coil that reads your targets like your full size coil does. Why settle for an all metal pin pointer when you can have the silver ring up like it did before you dug the hole. And, unless you are hunting from trees, I find the cord to be a very small factor. I haven't got mine caught on anything but the bumper of my car when i was taking it out..

I can't help feeling like I am about to feed a troll but I am going to respond anyways.

Extra weight is extra weight. After 5 hours of hiking, digging, and swinging with a 12x15 coil, believe me ONE ounce would make a difference in deciding whether or not to stay an extra hour or go home. Prove me otherwise.

I hunt woods, and sometimes (especially in the summer) I make my way through some THICK vegitation with vines, branches, and lots of thorns. When I did have my X-1 it got stuck alot because of this. You trying to convince my otherwise with your sarcastic snipes is not going to change this fact.

So there you have it.

Relax...I'm not trolling you. I was just curious as to why you would bash a product that is very good and popular. If you would have stated your hunting conditions and clarify your reasons it would of helped understand your answer. For 95 percent of the people that own the x-1 love them. I am sorry if you thought I was "trolling" you. I have used several different pin pointers and have found the x-1 to be the most bang for the buck..but that's me. I hunt in more typical areas, so your reasons do not apply. Good hunting

Hey I use both the Garrett Pro Pointer and an X-1. I had the Garrett already when I was using the Ace 250 then I got an E-Trac and added the X-1. Typically I cut my plug I use the Garrett first because you can really root with it. I will then but not always use the X-1 to give confirmation of what I am digging. What I mean by that the Garrett will sound off on metal in the hole while the X-1 will confirm if what the Garrett is finding is the target or just some junk in with the target. I know others that do the same thing, might sound strange but it works for me!

I have a bum shoulder and weight is a problem for me with or without the X-1, but I came up with my own poor boy swingy thing and that has really helped. But there is something that really bothers me when the weight issue comes up, you know NebTrac is just itching to pull out his picture of what swinging the E-Trac has done to his physique. Lord knows we don't want to see that again. Just having a little fun with NebTrac, he is one fine Nebraskan. -- Randy

 I was going to make a "swingy thing" out of my old jockstrap as a joke...but I couldn't find it. Come to think of it; it might be in the trophy case at school...:blink:.
