How many of you use the programming exchange on the etrac?

I have been looking at the E-trac since it came out. The one feature that keeps my attention is the ability to exchange programs with others. Though I can readily see that Program "X" pattern might not work the same in Texas vs. New York, due to mineralizations, smog (just kidding Yanks) or other factors, it would theroretically work in the same area.....possibly.

The other positives in my mind are that the processor speed is significantly higher than either my XS or my main machine, EXII. As long as machines keep developing signal process speeds which increase, recovery over co-located items should improve.

Back on point however, the question is.....how many of you use the exchange program to gain patterns? Do you do so regularly? Or is it a first time use of the machine sort of thing? I can see, because I travel sometimes as an insurance adjuster, that new places would justify the ability to gain locally produced pattern settings.....

Finally, is the transfer of settings include sensitivity settings, or is it just "Accept or Reject" patterning?

Thanks guys n girls....in advance

I have used the Xchange program 1 time to share with a buddy while on vacation. I took my laptop with me and hooked him up with patterns from Andy's book and some program settings Andy gave me to try on a program I created. If you ever do a master reset, you can have all your programs saved on your computer to upload back to your E-Trac. You can not edit the patterns with the xchange program.

I wish you could edit the programs on the computer. I just think it would be so much handier than on the detector. As far as the exchange goes. I've not used it but once. I really like the backup feature. The program is kindof like a concealed weapon. You might not use it very much....but its nice to know its there and ready!!!!

I use mine. There are alot of great patterns out there. Once we/i have them i adjust them to what i like. A patter is just that. A patter of discrimination. A mode is both a pattern and the settings. You can create and save/share both. Thebeepgoson has finnished v 2.0 and is polishing it up. If all gos well we will beable to create patterns on our computers.
