How many people are fully submerging?

Just want to know if anyone is having leakage issues? Before I start plunging into the deep wanted to know how leak proof the machine is.

no problems here. did a lot of water hunting last summer. just make sure you clean the seal and matching surfaces of both battery and box. I just wet a lint free cloth and wipe all the parts and ring.

no problems here either. I snorkel detect 100% at salt water beaches and haven't had any issues. just make sure you clean that seal and the groove it sits in before each hunt...after my first 3 hunts, I was surprised to see sand in the groove where the seal sits (no leaks though...whew!) and have always cleaned it thoroughly after each hunt.

After removing and cleaning the seal, be sure to reinstall the seal in the groove correctly. The seal is formed to fit a specific way. Those upper two corners need to fit and lay in without getting pinched or slightly out of place....HH

See mine floating in the sea..And it got submerged as well

I don't hunt underwater but I have held it under to see if it leaked......... not a drop inside.

I was in the lake today and the CTX was completely underwater for about 2 hours. No leaks.

OK in calm water. Few drops inside the battery compartment in moderate wave action. Will do like others have posted and use the Excal for the rougher water.

I'm going to my first beach with the CTX tomorrow morning. Probably I will hunt just the sand, as I am waiting for my waterproof adapter. Once I get the adapter I will be heading out into the water.
Didn't buy it to look at!! Happy hunting.

I use it on the threads of my Excalibur and it does a good job of preventing drops of water from coming into contact with the battery.
