How Many Times Have You?

Magicman

Member
How many times have you been on the ground using your X-1 probe and get up and start swinging, sometimes not hearing anything but TT and others hearing everything but can't seem to find the spot? I have done that several times only to look down and say "Way to go knucklehead" and click the switch forward.....

I know I am not the only one.........

NUP.... You're not alone Rich and Bryce !

I've done it many times myself.... Heh heh

And it sure has a funny effect on me !!!

thats funny, this happened to me twice the other day while hunting a school field. I'm brand new to the Explorerer as well as the X-1 coil, so I have an excuse!:crylol:

I did it today for the first time since I got it three months ago. I have mine mounted to the upper shaft with the coil end right behind the display. It started going crazy as it detected the circuit board. I did a noise cancel before I realized what was going on. Doh!

I try and get in a habit when I am done with the hole I clip the x-1 back in and flip the switch, however I don't do it.

So what could you change to make you or remind you to flip the switch?

Stop asking such questions Magicman--you're embarrassing me!-----I just "try" to think-done with the hole-last thing used (probe)-flip the switch.---Also, when we go over the target area with the detector coil after recovery (and we should always do that) to make sure we have got it all--that's a reminder to. NOW all I have to do is REMIND myself!! hmm-----Del

All the <bleep> time!

That includes almost a year with an S-1 on the Sov and not 5 months with an X-1 on the SE.

But I'm getting better at it. If I'm still doing it often by the time my warranty on the X-1 runs out, I'm going to install a LED in the switchbox so it glows red when it's on. (And I've suggested it to Ralph (as an unknnown). I still don't know why he hasn't done it yet since it seems so obvious to me. (The cost and power drain would be minimal--the only issue would be where you have it pointing depending on how the swichbox is istalled.)

Did it 4 times in my last 3 outings.....Kept getting great signals from the buttons in my pocket :)

It is good we can laugh at ourselves..... But when I have done it, I go back to the last postion I was using the probe and hunt the ground.

I don't leave it on with the my Excalibur

I've actually walked about 100 yards thinking I was in super clean ground until I noticed the switch.
