How many use their stock coil

Just curious, see many vids where the stock coil is replaced with a non-stock coil. How many still use the stock coil as their main search coil and if not, which do you use and why?

Depends on where your hunting. I initially go with the Pro coil but if the area is really trashy with a lot of signals then I switch to a smaller coil 6x8 sef or sunray 8" or 5" coils so as to get better seperation and readings.
Say it's a field or a beach and you want to cover a lot of ground then I would put on my sunray 12' coil or the WOT (wonderfull orange thing) 15" coil. It's all site dependant I say.
Nothing to do with the stock Pro coil being bad or anything it's just what is needed for that area to be sucessful and not go batty with the amount of signals you will have to dealo with.
Depth isn't everything, too may are getting hung up on depth.
I believe that SEPERATION is king myself as witness to the many goode finds we are all making and they aren't deep usually 8" or less but masked by trash or iron so the smaller coils fit the bill here way better than the others do in these situations.

JMHO.

I'm using the stock coil and have found a Mercury dime at 8" and an aluminum tax token at 10" with no problem.

I Use the stock coil, but I'm too new to know any better. I have to much to learn before I start messing around changing coils. I have a hard enough time trying to change programs! I didn't get an E-Trac to start playing and changing things, I wanted to be assured I had great equipment from the get go.

Well, I'm a bit new at it but have been happy with the stock coil on the beach and in large open areas. If it's heavy trash or the woods I'm really liking the Stealth X-5.

I use a few on the E-Trac 6" Excelerator DD, Sunray 5.5", 8x6 SEF, stock coil and a Sunray X12 on the way as i like trying different coils. They all work well, depends on whear you are detecting.

I did not use my stock coil for nearly a year because of the warnings over EMI with the 10"D2 and the V3i. I use it now. The EMI wasn't really an issue I couldn't manage, and the stock coil gets the depth range I want. martin

OOPS! This is an E-Trak thread. Sorry.

I use the stock Pro coil when I first hit an area. If it's light to moderate trash, I use the stock for two sweep passes. Then, I go to the 6x8 SEF. In heavy trash, I use the 6x8 SEF. I do not own any of the larger after market coils.

I'm a fairly new E-Trac user, and I currently own just the stock coil. I am considering an Excelerator coil for woods hunting and for some of the stubbly yards and fields around here. There is nothing more frustrating that have a coil constantly snagging on a stalk or tree branch.

Stock coil is my primary coil, do use a Sunray X-8 in more trashy places and use the Sunray X-12 for fields with not many signals.

I use the sunray x-8 about 80% of the time. Mostly due to a bad shoulder, In my area it's almost as deep as the pro coil and better in the trash. I also have the x-5 for mega trash and still use the pro in open area's where trash is light and coins are deep.
