Welcome to the hobby nesdore! Those Garrett aces rock! matter of fact I traded my muskee for a ace 250. A coin magnet and my favorite ring find has been with the ace 250so far.nesdore said:1 month Garrett Ace 150 ( shoulda went with the 250) lol
Words of wisdom. Thank you Charles.fowlercharles said:I stared with a Garrett BFO "Sidewinder," in July 69 on my 32nd. birthday. Just before Camille crushed us. Been hard at it ever since. Y'all do your research, get some "diggin Buddies", have fun, and dig while you are able. Old men are not so able, so with the diggin Buddies there is always the hope of another dig. Friends and Fun are the real "Goodies" of detecting!! HH Charlie

. I was out and about and noticed a local metal detector shop/store. I went in and came out about an hour later with a $400 used Garrett GTA ultra 500
. Wife hit the ceiling:veryangry:
as we did not have a lot of money back then. Believe it or not, I found a 1/4 ct Diamond ring with it that weekend. Wife apologized
and still has the ring. If you notice my signature, I still have the GTA500. It has been back to Garrett once because the display quit working. They upgraded the internals to the GTAx500 no charge. My 10 year old daughter
still uses it when she goes detecting with me.
