How much longer do the NiMh batteries last in the headphones?

Another post made me decide to switch to the new type. I have multiple battery packs and doing this will free me from non-rechargeables completely.

Today was short day at work and was able to dig a lot of aluminum! No rings today but this site has proven itself well. Hopefully next time. So...what should I expect from those new batteries? Scott

Depends on the mah rating of the batteries. When I run them I use 2500mah NIMH by Energizers. I charge 4 at a time 2 in the phones and 2 in my pouch. I hunted 12 hr days and never used more than the 2 spares. When I get home I I charge them. Mine are 4 years old. Rob

Sounds good and glad to make the investment. At that rate they'll pay for themselves quickly. Thanks Rob.

I been using high rated NiMH rechargeable batteries. I'll use a charged up set for each hunt instead of going off them from a previous hunt. Plus I carry a spare ready to go pair. So I haven't yet experienced how long they last and haven't done a battery replace in the field yet. So it's like a topped of charged batteries for each outing.
I'd have to look, but I want to say mine I been using are 2750 mAh. I have several older lower rated ones but haven't used them yet except for in other detectors.
