Glad you bought that expoensive detctor now??? My BH will smoke it....lol, and I can get them on the line on the first try.

ABSOLUTELY Glad I bought an expensive detector :)
same here! it is the best money I have ever spent on this hobby

Yeah no doubt! E Trac is one heck of a machine. Im happy with it.

Yeah, yeah, that Mo humor gets me everytime! I meant a 2nd machine , as in the number two. Now seriously, we live in the same state, do you really want another etrac in your neighborhood?.Their customer service problems really freak me out. I heard they are moving, etc. , but why not keep the communications open? When I was a dealer for ML back in the 90's, they were not real great with communications then MHO. Fun machines though.

I guess with all the relocating and back orders on so many of their machines they are to busy to respond in a timely manner:confused:I wish I had the answer so I could share. It seems like the bigger the company the harder it is to to have any kind of personal contact. And I am sure they are very busy with Government contracts as well.

DID I EVER TELL YA I LUV MY ETRAC?????-----Sure don't want no Bounty Hunter around my baby smokin & burnin her up!!!!---------Hey, things will "iron out" when they get the new service center up and running in Chicago.----Pain in the butt until that time though, huh?

ETRAC is a great detector, but with no service it is one problem away from a very expensive paper weight:thumbdown:

It is unbelievable that you could spend that much money for a detector and not be able to talk to anyone concerning a service issue. There is no one able to help you when you call and promised call backs never happen.

I would recommend anyone considering a Minelab detector hang on to their money until we see if Minelab continues to be a viable supplier.

The plug in on my 10.5 DD MF coil went bad (one of the little metal pins keep falling down preventing me from plugging into the control box. I called minelad and spoke with a Young lady. She advised that a customer service rep would call me within 24 hrs. I got the call in three hours. The CS rep explained that they normally just replace the coil, however the 10.5 DD is on back order. So that I would not half to do with out the coil until it was replace she advised me to send the coil to her and that she would have a tech take a look at it and see if it could be repaired. I mailed the coil last Friday and have not heard anything as of today. Now for one I call that dang good service. TonB

LOL,Your Bounty Hunter sucks dude. Not even in the same league.

Who are you addressing this statement to.....dude TomB

Well i guess we must be lucky here in Australia. I recently rang Minelab and was put straight through to their service department. I explained my problem and they said to send it in to them for repair. This i did and it was sent back to me repaired within seven days.Cost $56,it was not under warranty. So i hope things eventually pick up for you in the USA.

My post was directed to the Gopher guy,not you TomB. Don't see on your last post anywhere where you mentioned anything about a Bounty Hunter.:poke:

just wanted to add, Andy Sabisch sent this post and he sent me his book that I am waiting for at his cost...........thanks!
now if I can only get that rain cover!

Hey, it could be worse, at least your not waiting over a year to get a water detector fixed because they don't have any more waterproof coil connectors.................I own 4 Minelabs now, and not worried in the slightest bit, nada, none, zip :minelab:

I'm thinking about buying another one! (Minelab)-----worried (about their service)?--naw-----worried about their quality? (slipping) --naw-----have they got (and will continue to have) a great product--(YES).------They will work thru all this guys --don't "abandon ship"!----It may well be that it ends up being better than it ever was.--------Del

I share some of the frustration voiced on this thread. It took multiple calls (never receiving the promised call back) to finally speak with someone who could help me. They were very apologetic and provided me with the info I needed to send my Etrac in for repair. They said 30 day turn around which is longer than I had hoped for a minor repair. On the positive side, they did call to let me know that they received my detector.

Here is hoping that this is just a bump in service due to all of the reorganization they are going through.
