How to replace a search coil cable???

Hey everyone would anyone know how I could replace the cable for a search coil? I think when packing my explorer2 I think I may have broke a wire in the cable of my 4.5x7" DD Excellerator coil. Whenever this coil is plugged in my Exp2 wont turn on and with any other coil no issue at all so I think there must be a break. I have no idea how to fix it but I figure with a bit of guidance on how to test it and how to replace the cable it should be up and running again soon

Thanks in advance for helping :tu:

I've had good success with the sovereign coils but the Explorer uses a funky type cable that's hard to locate. Pull your connector apart and look to see it that's where the trouble lies. Perhaps a bad connection? If not and u want to try it I cut the cable on mine really close to the coil, made my solder connections, then fashioned a small tube and attached it to the coil housing with plastic slurry disolved with MEK making certain none of the wires were touching. Then filled with epoxy.
