Would like to hear any comments about the WS 4 phones vs the WS 5. I already know what they look like but am interested in sound quality and practical use of each.

I use the ws5 they are real comfortable and don't squeeze your ears, can wear them for hours at a time without pain. I ordered them because i wear glasses and the ws4 looked like they would conflict with the glasses over your ears. The sound is good, as good as my Gray Ghost. Very glad i decided on the ws5,

I use the ws5 and really like them. very comfortable and keeps external noise out well. how well does the ws4 do on external noise, for those that use them?

I like the WS4, I wear glasses too. They don't seal as tight as WS5 and once you get them bent right they're fine. I can wear them all day, they don't get hot and they allow more hearing from the outside world, I don't like being deaf when detecting most of the time. Also with the WS4 I can wear a hat because they go below the hat line. I have Vance muffs for the cold and for when I like being alone. Get both, can't you just switch the module and aren't the WS4 about $20?

Much prefer the ws5 over the ws4 as I can hear the signal better, but I still feel that when I have to tie a shoe lace across the back to stop them tipping forward on my head that there is a slight design fault there somewhere!

I like my WS5's, but have never used WS4's Sound quality is great. I do like the fact that the WS'5s can control everything without the control box. I have had it trying to rain and just putting control box in the truck, turning it off and using WS5's to control everything without worrying about them getting wet. Sometimes in a quiet invironment, I will use my fold up, over the ears, xp plug in headphones. Enjoy whatever you have or get.. HH-Mark
