Hey Goes,
Another TTF roundup. I have not have not had good results with TTF but want to give it a go in one area when the sun comes out. I have been wanting to ask you a couple of things about the TTF program and the way you hunt with it. If you have a minute I would appreciate any reply.
As I understand it you:
1. Use a mostly open discrimination screen which is pretty much just the quick mask screen I normally check for iron with but you disc out an area over a small iron area? I use the relic screen to start with then I disc out 01-01 thru 01-30, I used to go up to 31 but allow them to come thru now as some deep indians come in at 01-31
2. In two tone the lower half of the screen gives the low tone and upper half all give the high tone all targets must be identified pre dig by looking at the curs er position? pretty much yes
My questions are; Do you dig every target that comes in the high tone? depends totally on the site, if I am at an old house or field yes, if I am at a park or fairground and I am using TTF because of high iron, then I am more selective. but I dig ALL NICKEL SIGNALS and things close to nickel range as well I'm sure you look at your screen and courser each high tone and then make the decision weather or not to dig right?
Why do you think that multi tone does not give you better information as I particularly use the tones over the screen to identify good targets while in the conductive? TTF in multi tone is way too much music for my ears to process, by using two tone there is no confusion and you can really concentrate on pullings coins out of the iron
I guess I am just trying to understand why less discrimination with the screen and sounds is not better.
What are your thoughts? trial and error, play with it, see what u prefer. I prefer what I use, I have tried many different combos, 100% open VS what I use now, I tried multi tone, 4 tone, and 2 tone. I feel 2 tone serves me best!
