Hunted curb strips all day..GOOD silver day!

Curb strips in most city's and towns are city easements or right of ways, There for if city property is open to detecting then so are the "strips" between the sidewalk and street. I hunt them alot where I live and they are definitely a gold mine. I am also fortunate because I live in a college town and alot of the houses in town are student rentals so the landlords do not mind if you hunt them. I would definitely be care full about just walking up and hunting any of these strips I wanted because alot of property owners think they own them and also they take care of them. You sure don't want a bunch of peed off property owners(also city tax payers) to go to city hall and start complaining. I would almost guarantee that the city board will side with the tax payers and might get detecting banded! I have stopped and asked alot of times if I could hunt those strips and never been turned down. I was told one time by a home owner that I didn't need to ask because that was city property but he said he respected the fact that I asked him anyway. I'm just afraid if I just start hunting all of these strips without asking even if it's legal it could cause very negative press which could lead to a ban in that city. Just my 2 cents. HH.
yeah ok...lol, that is why I emailed the mayors office and saved the email replies. thanks for your input

Goes4ever, great idea to save e-mail replies. Good way to cover yourself just in case. Also congrats on the nice finds. HH.
