Hunting sidewalk tearouts with 2 buddies

Goes4ever

New member
met up with Diggerdan and Jamie today to hunt a couple sidewalk tearouts. I got a 1904 barber quarter, two indians, and 8 wheats. Not too bad of a day. Puts me at 75 silver and 65 indians for the season

That's a sweet barber quarter and Indians to , nice hunt.:clapping:

Nice finds--congratulations! G4e, would you say most of your sidewalk tear-out finds are found near the edges of where the sidewalks use to be or do you find an equal amount in the center area of where the sidewalk was? Thanks for the pictures and congratulations on a great season of silvers and IHP's.

Nice finds Terry! Congratulations and thanks for the pictures!

Great find. Can you imagine how much good stuff is under black top and concrete?

HI Goes,
OH! Hunting old main street roads durring the tear out and under the sidewalks is some of the best hunting. Its like a time capsule no pull tabs and few trash stuff just old old coins and whatzits. That Barber quarter is sweet, mabey some more hidding under that asphal eh?

Good luck with anticipation,

The very first tear-out I hunted yielded a lot of great coins, but then nothing since. Every tear out I have gone to, it is obvious that the original soil was dug out, filled with in with sand, then cemented. It's become quite frustrating.

Glad to see that you had great success with your hunt!
