I did the UNTHINKABLE today:surrender: I ...

strapped on the stock SE slimline coil:bouncy: :surprised: and took it for a spin.

I was bound and determined that this coil COULD find something if I tried hard enough. Low and behold...it DID:smoke:

I can't complain because who thought we would have 40 degree temps in mid January?

I was just happy to be swingin' the coil and let my buddy Hercules run around.

I got the Yeti out of hibernation and brought him along. We didn't get to do much diggin because we had to share my pick axe:crylol:

I only dug 6 targets in 5 hours...and it took nearly 20 minutes with the Lesche mini pick axe to dig each one:confused:

It actually got to the point I was hopin' to NOT hear any good tones:cool: cause' I didn't feel like chipping through the concrete frozen ground to get to the target:lmfao:

The 2 wheaties and one Roosey were all blended jumbled hits and I was thrilled to dig them with the slimline coil. I was NOT thrilled to dig 20 minutes 3 different times for the 3 pulltabs you see though:cool: :help:

The Yeti had fun too...getting a roosey and a wheatie. In fact one of the pics taken was when hercules was helping him find his Roosey.

It's all about the fun for me. Getting to hunt with a buddy like the Yeti...and also my faithful companion and hunting buddy Herky.

It's supposed to be 40 degrees Friday and Saturday too...but I think I'll pass. My freakin' shoulder is sore from chipping away with that pick axe.

It was fun today though.:super:

Nice cold weather hunting. I got out today and didn't find a thing, although I did find out that under the leaves in the woods
it was still very diggable. But the snow was too deep to get a good swing on.

HH.

simply awesome. Your love for this hobby and your friends shines through. You are a class act Bryce and I am proud to be your friend. Here is to a great 2010 for you:beers:

Went out yesterday found a clad dime with a old pocket watch, Misting rain, in the 50's with mosquitoes.

Good for you Bryce! I think I'll have to wait a couple more months before I give it a try unless I head south. You know everyone bashes the slimline coil but when I used it I found allot of good things with it. Not that I'd want to give up the pro coil but the slimline isn't the worst coil I've ever used. HH

It means a lot to me...and I feel blessed to have you as a friend too.

You and I will have to pound the snot out of some of those St. Louis parks again in 2010.

Surely between the two of us we can keep the gloat off of Guvner's face:cool:

Glad to see Bryce out representing in January. I was going to keep quite about the hour and a half I spent out with my little friend Ex11 in 24 degree Utah but after reading your post I thought I would fess up as well. I had to pull out my torch to heat up the permafrost to get down to the 5 inch level. It took .45 minutes of scrapeing and heating and out came a scrap of perfectly rotted junk. But I had High hopes so I did it again on another target that turned out to be the other half of the junk...I had a lot of fun as its the first time out with my Ex for about 5 months. Ahhh I needed that to get thru the rest of the winter.
Thanks Bryce...summers is comming Im sure of it...but I miss the tye dyed shirt. shes cute though.

WGT bud. You and Yeti needed ol' "Heavy D" to help bust into the frozen ground.
.
40's all week bud...but rain. We might get one in towards the end of the week?

(Not going to give up detecting - just other priorities for now) Someone I think will get a very good deal.

Wow!

I'm not sure which was the most "Unthinkable"!

1. Hunting when you had to use a pick to break frozen ground for can tabs?

2. Actually strapping on the Slimline and hunting with it?

or 3. Letting the Yeti anywhere near Hercules so soon after hibernation when he must have been hungrier than usual?!

Congrats on getting out, and finding silver!

Wishing you the best!
