I don't think I need a bigger coil.

The GT with the 10 inch coil wears me out every time I go to the beach. Here's my finds from a short 2 hour hunt today. I didn't run out of finds, I ran out of stamina. Some of the coins were well past 15 inches. I'm getting to old to dig that deep.

That's a nice pile of quarters from the looks of it, not to mention the other coins. You're going to have enough spare money for an SEF in no time.

And remember, people are never "too old" they are just too out of shape. I know guys in their 60's that can crawl, bend, lift, and do other things in their jobs better than people in their 20's. It's one of those use it or lose it things. I remember seeing over in China I think were they use bambo for scaffolds during contruction of buildings. There were some really old guys climbing around on those things like monkeys doing the construction. Also, some of the best rock climbers are "seasoned" citizens. I'll tell ya, after I sold my business which involved a lot of bending/stretching/lifting and sat on my bum for a while I felt worn out all the time.

Thats one nice machine , i can only imagin how much deeper if you had the WOT but like you say how many targets can you dig at 15'' befor you are tired

This particular dock site is hunted by a couple of other hunters but they don't use Minelabs so they keep the first 8-9 inches pretty clean. Most of the finds are 10 inches and deeper. The problem is that because I also hunt the rocky areas closer to shore I use a short handled shovel so in the sand the shovel is what makes it so tiring. This is a heavy thick mucky sand so when I dig down I have to use my leg as leverage to pull up and help heft the sand out of the hole so I don't have to set the rod down each time. Averaging about three scoops per target along with constant bending to retrieve the target this gets tiring real quick. I need to spring for a heavy duty scoop that I can use for the rocky areas as well as the sand.

I find that on all areas other than the water and real wet sand the shovel method is a more eficient way to work, only if the hole starts to fill in quick do i use the scoop, the scoop is very hard for real deep targets

Your right Cman, if you can keep doing as well with the 10...why change........2 hour hunt.............you have a great place, and it's a few minutes away.....................joe

Message being reported to moderator...When I went to reply to this message I could see exactly what you said. I may be a lot of things but one thing I don't do is call people names, make things personal, or swear at others on a forum. I can argue my point of view without resorting to any of those childish tatics, and I expect nothing less in return.
