I went to an old ball dimond next to RR tracks in a small town of 300 or so and hit the jackpot. It has been looked a lot but not with Minelabs. As best I can tell it was the carnival and circus area untill the 1920s and then they started using main st. and it was turned into a ball field in the 50s.
All coins were 7" plus and the dimes were 8" plus. Some of the clad was 7" plus as well from fill in parts of the field with the deepest coin being a clad quarter at 10".I was using the Pro coil with ironmask at 26 with everthing maxed out that I thought would give the very best depth as not very trashy and mild black gumbo soil.
The dimes were 1896o,1903o,1908o and 1903 plain. The gray
1896o would be a $100.00 or above coin except for the gray.I just sold a 1897o for $116.33 for my dad on Ebay and this is a better coin except for color and a better date as well.
Well as soon as it rains I will go back as I did not cover it all and the grass was a tad to high,Ray.
