Still hunting the old apartments but moved across the street. I had just started and hit two clad dimes, two ‘65 and one ‘66 so thinking this could get good. Not even to third big old fir tree when I hit a nickel/foil numbers. Dug down just to the top of the roots so maybe 3-4” and I can see what I hope is a ring shank. Pull it out and clear some of the wet dirt off of it and lightly rub the shank, it has a goldish color to it!! I stick my finger in the ring and twist my finger back and forth and now can see letters and maybe numbers on the inside near the head. Scrambled for my loupe but forgot to put it back in the pouch after cleaning it. By just looking at it I figured costume ring but usually they dont have writings on the inside. Just going to have to wait until I get home.
Once home and cleaned up I could better see the writings, HONG KONG!! The ring head is a lions head and the letters MAJULAH are across its forehead. This has something to do with Singapore from what I can find. This ring has no apparent damage to the metal other than the shank is broken at the half way point.
Anyone know if by imprinting Hong Kong dates this back aways? With all the foreign students in and out of here I’m not surprised to find it. But, darn that goldish color jump started me!! (Ring head is slightly larger than a dime)

😳😳😳 oh false alarm 🤣

Ronstar, that was still a cool find. The lions head ring is just setting you up for the real good ring next time out. That area has produced pretty well for you. Stay at it and Continued Success to you.

Disappointing but NJ reminded me of seeing/hearing the Tokens in concert sing their big hit " A Lion Sleeps Tonight". Cherokee Casino about 12- 14 years ago. Always loved the song. They autographed an album for me but I seemed to have lost it.

This has been a bit hard to research. It seems there is more info on dating plastics made over there than jewelry. I think this is most likely 70s to 90s.
Now I cant get the tune A Lion Sleeps Tonight outta my skull......
