I now have an X Terra 305

Well-known member
Since I am always on the look out for a bargain I came across a nice looking 305 and added it to my arsenal.
Since we are in the deep freeze for a while all I can do is read and plan and do testing.
As the weather breaks I will report my progress.
I see Longhair has been around for a long time on all the Minelab forums.
I would like to say Hi, because we are in the same state and not too far apart.
Maybe will will see each other out there some day.
I read all the books and many posts on the 305.
As time goes on I am hoping to upgrade to.the 705 be a use of the added features.

Congratulations on joining the Xterra family, and our forum! Welcome aboard!

Welcome! I'm sure you are really going to enjoy the 305.

Oh happy days!
I found a 10.5" DD coil at a reasonable price.
Spring can't come soon enough!

Haha, I can imagine how you feel. I am splitting my time between the 10.5 DD 7.5 khz and the 6" round 18.75 khz DD on my X Terra 505. I always feel I'm missing deeper targets using the 6". In super trashy sites, I feel I'm possibly masking targets with the 10.5" coil. I've only been using the 10.5" for a few months, so I have no proof of that yet. Keep us posted. You will love the 305! Don't forget to download Randy Horton's e-book "Understanding your X-Terra". It's free on the Minelab website.

Thanks for the kindly reply. I have Randy ' s book downloaded and I am working on my technique and trying to learn the numbers. I seem to have better luck with the stock concentric coil at trashy sites at this time but only have a week into the spring. I found a few dimes and an old wheat so far. I am hoping for some silver and rings soon.
