Hello All,
Got out today for the first time with my new Etrac. Hit an area that I have hit with my Safari 2 or 3 times. Today did not disappoint, pulling out a 1910 V nickel, a no date Buff a couple of Wheaties and a 1905 O Barber Dime. The Barber was found in an area that in the past I could hardly walk through there was so much trash sounds. I really slowed down and isolated the sound and used Goes 4 Ever's pinpointing technique and dug right on target. I was really happy to see silver as I was on my way back to the truck.
It will take some time to get use to, coming from the Safari. Seemed like the VID kept coming up 1-xx with a good sound then settling down with a better Ferrous number. Tried TTF for a while and did manage a couple of clad coins out of the mess.
Thanks for looking,
Bunker

Really nice finds for your first outing with the new machine! Congratulations and thanks for the pictures.

the sound and id on the 1 line is just iron falsing round from the 35 line and it is a good idea to go to edit pick the smallest black cursor on the left hand side and go across the 1 line to 1.36 and then also block out 1.49 and 1.50 that should keep the high blip from happening i am not the tech person so someone else might come on and give you better instructions for the states as you have to watch as a few of your coins come in at 1.37 and silver can come in at 1.40s also make sure your ground is set to difficult all the time as this will sound off on silver happy hunting

Thanks Sugar for info. It did get a bit frustrating. I will try that out.
Thanks Neb Trac

Hey - Guess what... I'll bet your gonna like it !! and if you don't... just PM anyone here... We'd like a backup and less competition :p

I went from the XT-70 to the ET about 15 months ago and I'd never never never give up my ET... Just keep swinging and digging :) You'll get it :)

Bunker I just got myself an E-Trac and mine does'nt have that silver warble tone the Safari has. I've been reading the manual and Andy's book and I have'nt read anything about that specific tone adjustment. You know the tone from using your Safari my E-Trac tones are close but it just not the same. I had both machines outside and they are not the same. HH :minelab:

You want Variability it's low 20's on Etrac go to 30 and also Threshold sound factory set at 15 play with that. You don't want Threshold volume that is for the background hum you hear all the time. Try those to get the sounds close to waht your used to.

Thanks all,
I will be playing with it and try some of the programs on the exchange.
Happy Hunting everyone!
