That is the way I look at it too, I got a later start in metal detecing got my first machine when I was 65, I started with an Ace 250 found a few nice things but knew I really enjoyed doing this so I decided to get a better machine. I gave it a lot of thought checked out some different ones got an opportunity to try out a friends E-Trac and knew that is what I wanted to get. I thought that I did not have time for an intermediate machine, because I did not know how long I could do this physically. I had arthritis in a hip joint and just this year had it replaced and boy am I glad to have done it. So I look at this new machine which I assume will be about $700-$1000 more than the E-Trac and have to make the decision whether to consider it or not. If it would increase the quality and quantity of what I can find then it will be worth it. Now will that increase in finds have a "monetary value" enough to justify it....I doubt that seriously but that is not why I detect, I just like to find "old stuff" and uncover and restore to light something that has been "gone" for a hundred years or more. Now being retired and living on a fixed income....that means my income needs fixing :heh: I have to make a wise decision. Only time will reveal that to me and to all of us. There seems to be a lot of prejudging on both sides, negative and positive, let us wait a bit and see what it really is before we decide.

I think it, will since everyone that looked at the deus was liking the 1899.00 price tag
