Sand is coming in at the beach and there are no storms or tourist. I call this time of year 'The Dead Zone'
To satisfy my cravings, I'm headed inland for schools & parks. I recently acquired a Nox 900 as a backup.
It came with a 6 inch coil which is absolutely useless on the beach. I thought Id sell it but I had an idea where it might
work well. I have a spot on the bay that is loaded with debris. Many years ago, with my Shadow, I found a gold college class ring.
Tried to return but no luck. In order to hunt the bay, I need the right conditions which were not happening at the moment.
Soooo I decided to go to a productive park, at least I could find gas money. I had worked an area pretty good of high tones and was hoping to hit
on a gold ring. Its pretty affluent town, so I I thought is was a good possibility. I never used a multi-frequency machine inland due to, too many
tones and pinpointing was difficult. (I'm a beach hunter, we just take another big scoop !!!). It was so nice to swing a small coil as pinpointing was so easy.
Basically I was looking for a very odd number, two way signal. I get this nickel,27 & pull tab 31 signal. Must be some weird pull tab. I dig it, and sure enough pull tab.
I close up the hole. rescan and nickel ID. Sure enough a nickel. Totally impressed.
I love hunting under bleachers. Loaded with signals and tons of trash. Way back in my newbie days, before meters, I just cherry pick with high discrimination.
One day I hit a set of bleachers that never was hunted. Tons of coins and 5 silver rings and a piece of eight coin which said copy !!! Moral of the story,,,,there must be gold there.
Now with my little 6" coil, Im headed to the bleachers. Always thought with tons of trash it would be impossible to find a gold ring with ought digging all those pull tabs.
But now, there is a possibility.
Id hit that 5 silver ring school if I was closer but I moved.
Cant wait to get to the bay !!!!
