is there anyway to get the icons remove from the screen I got use to them not being there on the dfx and now find it a bit distracting thanks

Yep, but I can't tell you how to do that right off the bat. Someone else with an owners manual will have to look that up for you or go to www.whitesdetectors.com and look at the manual there if you don't have one. Call White's or your dealer and ask for and owners manual if you got an early model.
