Found this Coin "about the size of a dime" in a field at a Colonial farm. Thanks for any information or links.

I would say that exactly what it is...

If it's the size of a dime, Id say it's a 1 Reale. I believe a 2 Reale is the size of a quarter. Regrdless, a great find.

What was the specs on the i.d.? What numbers did you get on the readings and how deep was it?

If it's the size of a dime, it's a half reale. Size of a nickel, it's a 1 reale, size of a quarter - 2 reales, size of a half dollar - 4 reales, size of a silver dollar - 8 reales. Yours is a half reale - nice dig.

If it's about the same diameter of a dime but extremely thin it's a 1/2 Reale. It should weigh approx. 1.69 grams. I found one a couple of years ago, thought it was trash at first because of how thin it is.
