I am getting comfortable with how the V3i responds to adjustments and it's personality.... at least relic hunting...
In relic mode I can hit the 10" test garden quarter with a little room to spare. Side by side and even with my Etrac running the 15" Coiltek compared to the stock coil on the V3i, the Etrac cannot hit the 10" quarter with regularity. The V3i can and that is impressive. The more I use this machine the more I get comfortable with it's adjustable settings and language. I can see how this machine can be tuned for a specific style of hunting.
I am convinced the last V3i I had must have had a bad coil. It was very inconsistent in depth and stability.
I am happy with my purchase and have made some nice finds. I can tell you that it is more sensitive than the Etrac on small items at depth.....such as lead and pcaps.
