Was wondering if anybody had any links to threads or tips pages concerning overview, pros and cons, and such on various settings. I was sent an excellent one but like to get input from various views.

And...The Coin Mode program...does that accept all US coins and do you consider Andy's coin program to be better?

Coin mode does not accept large US halves and dollars due to upper right hand corner discrimination. I believe Andy's coin progam to be better because of the tendancy of the fe numbers being a bit higher sometimes than the coin program will hit. Coin program is recommended for a beginner, but it does not unlock all the potential unmasking ability that the Etrac has. Alot of people really do have grreat out of the box sucess with the coin program though.

Is that really true? I found a $1 clad Ike with my BH. The preset coin program on the etrac won't find it? It appears that the upper right in coin mode is wide open?

I have read that over and over and I am not sure why people say that, I have ran a bunch of silver dollars under my coil and it hits every one loud and clear. And I know it hits half dollars easy, I dug 6 of them in 2010

I dug 2 dollar coins this year. The first was the Morgan and it was pretty consistant in being in that 01-41 to 01-43 range. It did bounce down to 12-47 on one swing. The coin ended up being on edge at 6". I dug a clad dollar 3 days later and can't remember where it hit as I didn't look due to it being shallow. I just thought it was a pop can.

The only half I dug I haven't put up on film yet, but it was in that 08-46 area. You won't miss them in stock coin pattern. I think, to be safe, you'd better open up the 01-38 to 01-44 area.

I was just stating what I have read on these forums. I have not personally dug nor tested this for myself. Thank you guys for clarifying this for me. Just goes to show that air testing multiple items and having a coin garden for yourself is a really good idea!

I find the settings on the ET to be dynamic and I adjust accordingly when hunting at different types of soil, trash/target density, coil size, coin shooting, looking for only gold jewelry, etc. What type of info regarding settings were you hoping to read about? I'm all for discussion on this topic. ;)
