In some cases is the SE better than E-Trac?

"...my Explorer II does a better job then my E-Trac on separating pennies because of the changing ferrous numbers and I don't dig screw caps with the Explorer II."

Forgive me if I am wrong on some of this below but I am trying to get information out:

So I heard that the Explorer II (or SE) has better surgical separation of targets (like different pennies) than the E-Trac because of the changing ferrous numbers because the E-Trac has a fixed ferrous number at around at 12 (I think) ?? (I wonder why they fixed this number on the E-Trac and it floated around on the II and SE ??)

On the E-Trac the ferrous is the same for most coins while the big difference i find is the conductivity numbers are much more accurate with the E-Trac. I look at the conductivity number and if it is 36-38 I expect a IH or older Wheaties if deep, but shallow I know it is a new zinc penny in most cases. Now if I see a 42-46 I expect a new penny or a new dime, but if it lock more to 46-48 I expect a quarter. I tried all the Explorers and the SE with the Pro coil or the SE Pro is some of the ones I like the best, but this new E-Trac has been working better for me for coin hunting, but that is just me I guess. Well I guess I have another guy up here that has a SE with the Pro coil, but he got a E-Trac now so the SE is for a back up as the E-Trac is finding more coins for him in places he been over with his SE and the EX II he had before. I guess there is at least 2 of us up here in ND that like them. I am going to have to let James use one next spring to see what he thinks to.

So what does it mean when you get a 12-39, 40, or 41? Is the machine so accurate that you can ingore the 39-41 or do you dig those too? Jim

usually a bottlecap but unless there are a lot of them I dig them. If there are a lot I only dig the deep ones.

I was hunting yesterday and I hit an 08/21-26 with the ET. It was rather shallow and I passed by it... then I went back and dug it. I was sure it was some sort of tab but... it was an eagle button with some nice gilt... You just never know until you dig. I love digging that stuff that others either disc out or decide to pass over...

If someone never digs bottlecaps.... they miss some good stuff. Same with pulltabs, if you leave pulltabs... you leave buttons too.
