Injuns in a City Park

It was a Gorgeous Day today, so me and my buddy Kevin hit a city park where we have found 1800s coins in the past. Today I got an OLD gold Guilded Cuf Link, 2 Indian Heads, a few Wheats, a token, a old ring, and 25 Cents short of a full roll of nickels...
I spied the nickel wrapper on the ground and started scanning...Sure enough...someone lost a roll...It was a great day for detecting.

Happy Hunting,

Nice finds. Love those Indians. Good thinking on the nickels. Congratulations.

Good hunt on the oldies, and really GREAT work on that nickel tube just laying there empty and all innocent looking...a guy seldom sees a paper coin tube...I think I've only seen one, and they sure make you sharpen up when you do!:clapping:

Good thinking when you saw that nickel tube.

A few years ago, a friend and I were detecting in a wooded area of an old city park. When he found a few quarters, he called me over to have a look. We both detected a small open area and found exactly one full roll of quarters scattered about and the rotten remains of a ladies purse. The interesting thing about this was that all the quarters were silver! Since we were not far from a pathway, we guessed that our find was perhaps the result of a very old purse snatching. Something that sadly is not uncommon in this park.

Great way to enjoy a nice when they are getting scarcer this time of year. Real nice old keepers too. Smart detective work on the Monticellos!
