Inspired by Ray-Mo

Been hitting an area with a buddy of mine that is just not coughing up the silver like we think it should. We have certainly pulled Indians, Wheaties, Buffalos, V-Nickles, and my bud even pulled a 1865 2 Center.

Thought I would post a photo of my recent finds from that area. It finally let go of a 1899 Barber Quarter and a 1918(?) Buffalo yesterday, along with the usual trash. The quarter had an existing scar on its face before I rinsed the dirt clod off of it.

Also found my first pocket knife and a few friction primers. Those primers are just about as bad as pull tabs, as they are quite abundant in this area, but hey, I'm not complaining about them. Rather dig those than to dig the tabs any day.

I have been inspired by Ray-Mo with his photo's of his trash and treasures, so I thought I would do the same this time around, instead of posting just the goodies.

Nice Barber!Looks like you had a good Hunt.Which ones are the primmers?Im not familiar with those in my area. How old are they?Thx for posting your pics.HH

I didn't know what they were until I had posted on another forum.

Here is a link that can explain them a heck of a lot better than I can.

It seems that they are Civil War era and seems to fit with the property that we are hunting, as it has affiliations with a military school. So maybe they received old or discontinued uniforms and such that are no longer needed.

Excellent link!!Thank you for the reply..If i ever come across one know i will know wha tit is :)That is deff better than digging a pulltab ..Id dig those everytime.Thank you and HH

Thanks Ray and hope to see some of your trash and treasures soon. I find that showing both sides of the finds is great, but always seem to remember your posts after I throw the junque away.
