Interesting observation on BigFoot coil with V3i

For those of you using the BigFoot coil on your V3i, it's no news that when running 3 frequencies the VDI numbers are skewed on some targets more than others. For example a nickle with any other coil VDI's about 18. With the bigFoot it VDI's at 52. On the other hand, a zinc penny with the BF VDI's at 54 and with any other coil they VDI at 52. Using this unique feature of the BF, I decided to VDI a bunch of Pulltabs I had retrieved. With the BF coil they VDI'd from 32 to 66 with a couple of the old ring tabs coming it at 75. They I decided to check all the gold rings that I have detected over the past 35 years. The rings with the BF all VDI'd between 12 and 58. Using this iformation, I was able to build a Coin and Jewelry program for the BigFoot that would get better than 95% of my gold rings (missed 4 out of 84) while missing all 18 different pull tabs. Over the years I've made many "Ring enhancement" programs for the Eagle II SL 90, XLT, and DFX, but none have come anywhere near to this latest. By using any other coil with the V3i, I couldn't come to these percentages, but the way the BigFoot skews certain targets using 3 frequencies was the difference. Sure there will be cut tabs, can slaw, foil balls etc. that will you'll still hit, but by listening for that smooth round sound, it should really help the gold to junk percentage.
PS. The tabs I used VDI'd with an Eclipse 5.3 and HotFoot coil between 19 and 48.

Most of us saw the odd BigFoot readings on a V3i as an incompatibility fault. Congratulations for recognizing these unusual readings as an opportunity. Sounds like you have developed a program that can really improve gold ring finding odds. Would really like to have any program details you are willing to share.
