Is anyone having trouble with the E-Trac going nuts when you put it on the ground while digging. It doesn't do it all the time but more than enough. A

I haven't set mine on the ground to dig yet as I have been beach hunting with it. But when I used to land hunt with my Explorer it used to do that all the time. It was usually due to nearby electrical interference. You could try noise canceling again when ti starts to do it. Also if you are in Auto Sensitivity and you leave it sit still for a few minutes without moving it will gradually raise the sensitivity. If it goes to high you may get some noise from that.

Trocar---Have you tried laying the coil flat on the ground when you set the detector down to dig?---That might help--it's worth a try if you haven't done that yet.
