Is the rechargeable battery pack and charger for the Safari hard to find?

I am looking into a Safari. But it seems that the rechargeable battery pack and charger are on back order from a few of the major dealers. I dont want to get the machine and find that it is impossible to find the battery and charger. Also I notice that there are different amps 1600 and 1800. Which should I be looking for.

You should'nt have any problem finding rechargables and a charger. Look on detector accessories this forum E-Trac, Explorer battery packs are the same as for the Safari. Any vendor on this forum that carries Minelab's should have them. Hope this helps. HH

I am not to knowledgeable on batteries and mah and amp ratings so forgive me up front. I am looking for 8 AA batteries and a charger that can charge all 8 batteries at the same time. I am looking for rechargeables that will work with a Safari or any other machine for that matter. I know sanyo makes the eneloop rechargeable batteries but I can only fnd a sanyo charger that charges 4 batteries at a time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. One final note I would like to get rechargeables that wont take over night to get full power and the type of batteries that I don't have to worry about battery memory. And of course I ont want to worry about batteries that will fry my machine.

I have an extra Minelab charger and 1600 mah battery pack that I am willing to trade. I have 2 of each so the extra. They last me a long time in my Safari. Let me know what you might have to trade. I'm in Florida. They are a bit pricey when you do find them but they are high quality. Marty

There is a charger and battery pack on detector classifieds both for 65$ check that out. It will work on your Safari. Good Luck. HH
