Is there a difference in these coils?

Looking for a small coil for my e-trac that I can use in trashy ground. Is there a big difference between the minelab 5 or 6 inch coil and the 5.5 inch one from sunray. Also I was looking at the 6x8 sef also. I would like some opinions on these from people that have experience with them. Thanks all and HH.

I have the 8 inch coil that sunray makes and i find that it works pretty good and i cant tell a noticeable difference in depth either. But if you are in some really trashy stuff it might pay to get the 5 inch stealth coil by sunray. just my 2 cents.

I have the 5" Excelerator. It works very well and goes deep.

The Sun Ray 5.5 Inch Stealth coil came very highly recommended to me on this forum.

I have only had mine a very short time (two weeks), but it will really sort through that trash. I've found that because of it's small size it is much better at target separation then the standard coil that came with my E-Trac, works great with all my programs and I have not noticed much if any real difference in depth.
As many others have said I've noticed the depth readings are not as accurate, but the target ID and audio ID are right on so I just dig using my Sun Ray X-1 to help pinpoint and go for it.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Sun Ray 5.5 inch. Hope this helps.

I love my 6" EQ2. It all depends on the severity of the trash. The 6x8 sef is what I use in moderate, but the 6" EQ2 kills if it is terrible.

I have found the Sunray x5 to be the ultimate coil for extreme trash. On the other hand the sef 8x6 is great for those sites that are not extremely trashy but to trashy for the stock pro coil and covers a bit more ground than the x5.
I have both and will be keeping them with me on every hunt .

I have the X5 and have had great luck with it. I would highly recommend it. Got a nice 1798 copper that I know the stock coil went over a couple of times and missed.

I have just started using the Sunray 5.5" this year with my new E-Trac which I just bought in July. This small coil has fantastic depth and separation. It is highly accurate. I decided to specialize in finding jewelry and hunted trashy parks. I found 44 rings including 3 diamond with this coil along with lots of jewelry.Though I can't cover that much ground, I find just as much or more than my hunting partner using his stock coil. I highly recommend it. I just recently purchased an excelerator 6" to see how it compares. Haven't had a chance to use it due to the winter and snow.
