Is there a factory reset for the F5?

Just turn it off and back on. That will reset everything but where you have the dials set.

Whats causing you problems?

It is rumored that on the F4 and the F2, if you keep the power button depressed for 10-15 seconds after powering on, this is akin to a hard reset and will reset the unit to true factory conditions differently than just turning the power off then on again, and has been used to get rid of a few problems that have popped up on a few of those units.

Not sure if this works for the F5, but you could try that.
If it is one of those knobs that turns it on instead of a touch pad, this of course won't work, so a call to First Texas might be in your future if you really need to know.

Mike i believe i have a bad coil, its the original small coil and it just won't settle down, it jumps all over until i set it over a coin then it will stay steady, coil cable is tight.

Now when i put on the 11" DD coil it works like it is suppose to So i'm thinking of purchasing the 5" coil for coin and using the 11" for the beach.

I sent the F5 back to fisher about a month ago and they replaced and updated the control box and like i said it works good with the large coil but not the small one.
