It's about time that I come clean.....:surrender:

Thanks alot, my buddies were both using Minelab XS where I was using the EX2, so comparatively close in equipment. I don't think they chuckle at me anymore as I HAVE ARRIVED!

I was happy thinking it was a $20 (silver content) coin! I was flipping it into the air to listen to that silver ping, It sounded kinda like the old cowboy movies when they paid for a drink with a big silver dollar. The cowboy would flip the dollar to the barkeep and this coin made that sound! Of course I didn't know it's true value when I was flipping it...heck I thought is was 20 bucks or so...:yikes:... ahhh what a great memory....LOL

I've never seen one of those before. Love it and WTG, Duane! As Nick (on another forum and occasionally here in the Sov forum) would say: Righteous!

What part of the country are you in? (roughly)

Not to rain on your parade or anything but any idea why they marked it cleaned? Did you do something that would have marked it or were they just being a PITA?

PITA

Heehee

I was wondering why they said it was cleaned too?

Thanks Rich, I live in the KC area and this was found somewhat near the Santa Fe Trail. I was curious myself why it was called cleaned as I know that when the coin was found, it was rinsed off in water only. I have since learned that back in those days, before a trader headed up north along the trail, it was not uncommon for him to take his dollars/reales and brush them up a bit to make them look nice and shiny to trade. You and I both know, nobody wants to take a dirty dollar from a scruffy guy for any goods they sold. Makes sense to me anyway...this coin was doomed before it even hit the ground! I also have been told that the "details" part of the grade shouldn't hurt the value very much because of the rarity of the coin. Thanks for e-mailin and good luck huntin!
