Just my opinion. For a laugh read some of the reviews and questions the people are asking about MDs.:rofl: Good for beginners, but I don't know where some of them are getting the "best".
Heres are just a few examples:

Store junk

More store junk

Not trying to hurt anyones feelings, but I got bored and decided to look around at what big name store giants are offering for the hobby. Most of the stuff they're offering isn't that bad, but some of it.....

yep that stuffs out there and people do buy it..
everyone starts somewhere....
some learn and some dont even have a chance to find out what a great time there missing..:bouncy:
all we can do is educate our piers...:clapping:

Most of these people are impulse buyers and ain't looking for a real tector and wouldn't know one if they fell over one..

But some anonymous marketer gave it three out of five stars, so it must be good right?

You ought to pop over to the bounty hunter forum. Some of those guys LOVE them.

Yea, it IS store junk and unfortunately people who have never
MDed before get stuck with it; they don't usually come away with
a good metal detecting experience, but thats WalMart for ya. Their
bottom line is the dollar even if they DO have to sell crap from time to time.

You want me to MD with THAT?

Anyone remember something called the Ronco or Relco detector? It was junk back in the sixties. Many of the earlier detectors were either toys or junk, but since it was a brand new hobby, a lot of people built them in their basement, and marketed them as deepseekers and other catchwords for the unwary and less experienced folks. Fortunately, almost all of them became obsolete as more and more people discovered the hobby, and demanded better equipment. There is no telling where this new technology will end up. I'm truly amazed at the changes over the last 45 years. Unfortunately, some people automatically equate price with quality and reliability. We all know that ain't necessarily so, and some people will give a 5-star rating based on one horse ride. Jugg
